We’ve named the rooms and suites of the Auberge in homage to the artists and writers who have lived in the quartier du Carré St-Louis.

Dany Leferrière
He was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, in 1953. After high school, he became culture columnist for the weekly Le Petit Samedi Soir. After tragic events in 1976 he left Haiti for Montreal and lived on rue St-Denis. In 1985 his novel How to Make Love to a Negro Without Getting Tired was published, instantly putting him in the spotlight. He is a columnist in Quebec dailies and a television commentator, and writes novels and screenplays.
